L. Stan Haywood

Stan graduated from the University Of North Carolina School Of Pharmacy in 1968. He was the owner and operator of Prevo Drug, Inc., in Asheboro from 1972 until December of 2013. He continues to practice part-time as a retail pharmacist.

Stan served on the NC Board of Pharmacy from 2000-2010, and was the recipient of the 2004 Bowl of Hygeia Award. He is a compounding pharmacist and has his APhA Immunization Certification (2005-current). He maintains membership in the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists. Stan is the chairman of the ACP Advisory Committee for NC Mutual Drug Company.

In addition to his advocacy for pharmacists, Stan is also active in his local community. He is involved in local and state politics. Stan currently serves as a Randolph County Commissioner (since 2006), and is part of both the Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization and the Randolph County Board of Health. He is a charter member of Cross Road Baptist Church, where he has been a Sunday School Bible Study teacher for 34 years.

Stan and his wife Hope live in Asheboro and are the proud parents of three sons -- Drew (attorney), Jon (pediatrician), and Mark, all UNC graduates. Go Heels!
