2016 NC BOARD OF PHARMACY ELECTION - WESTERN AND NORTHERN DISTRICTS


MONDAY, MAY 31, 2016 - RUNOFF ELECTION FOR WESTERN DISTRICT SEAT BEGINS MAY 28

Please join the Board in congratulating Keith Vance of Lewisville for being elected by North Carolina pharmacists to represent the Northern District. The Board certified the Northern District election results by conference call on May 16. Click here to see vote totals for this district.

Mr. Vance will begin his term on May 1, 2017.

For the Western District, incumbent William (Bill) Mixon of Hickory received the highest vote total at 38.4%. Cathy Huie of Purlear received the second highest vote total at 31.7%. Click here to see vote counts for the Western District.

The Board is holding a runoff election between Mr. Mixon and Ms. Huie beginning Saturday, May 28, 2016. Voting will continue through Friday, June 24, 2016.

All pharmacists residing in North Carolina and actively licensed as of March 15, 2016 are be eligible to vote in the Western District runoff.

North Carolina Pharmacists –

Voting begins on April 14, 2016 for the Northern and Western District seats. Please follow this link to log in and cast your vote now. It takes less than a minute:  https://www.ncbop1.org/online/pharmacistelection/login.asp.

Voting will continue through May 15, 2016.  All North Carolina pharmacists residing in the state and actively licensed by the Board as of March 15, 2016 are eligible to vote. Voting is NOT limited to pharmacists who reside in the Northern and Western Districts.

Once you log in you’ll be able to view the candidates’ biographical information before casting your final vote.

**Any pharmacist eligible to vote may instead request a paper ballot by notifying the Board in writing on or before April 20, 2016. Send a fax, letter, or email to the Board and include your name, license number, and home address. Written requests for a paper ballot must actually be received by the Board on or before April 20.
