Registration Requirements for Technicians

The Board registers pharmacy technicians who may, under the supervision of a pharmacist, perform technical functions that assist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.

Technicians must register with the Board within 30 days of the date of employment.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION AS A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

TECHNICIAN REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS UNDER 21 NCAC 46 .3301

All new applicants must first register through the Board's Licensure Gateway to create a user name and password. The Gateway allows access to all applications.

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) ExCPT certification
