HIGH ALERT - The Board has received reports that Asha Kaur Khan is representing herself as a licensed pharmacist or as a foreign pharmacy graduate who will soon be licensed in North Carolina. Additionally, the Board has received reports that Ms. Khan has sought employment as a pharmacy technician by presenting a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification. Please note that Ms. Khan: (1) is not licensed as a pharmacist in North Carolina or any other state; (2) is not registered in North Carolina as a pharmacy technician; and (3) that a Virginia “pharmacy intern” registration that she possessed expired on December 31, 2005.
Furthermore, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) informed the Board that Ms. Khan has not passed the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE). NABP has also determined the transcripts and other paperwork Ms. Khan produced purporting to show graduation from a foreign pharmacy school were forged.
Ms. Khan was the subject of a similar warning to practitioners in March 2006. The Board has reason to believe that Ms. Khan may again be attempting to obtain work in North Carolina pharmacies. The Board advises all permittees and licensees to consider this information should Ms. Khan seek employment with you.
